B.A. Winfree, P.E. Consulting Engineer - Comments on the government's testing of a Pilock™ installed piling at Eglin Airforce Base on 12/8/97. Mr Winfree writes, " I witnessed a load test on a 10" pile installed at the Bear Creek Marina. A static load of 10,000 lbs. was applied. From visual inspection no deflection was noted."

Figure 1 shows the government's test of the load-bearing ability of a piling armed with a piling anchor. The piling had been installed for one week with a Pilock™ at a depth of 6 feet.
With 5 tons of weight on it, the piling did not sink!

James Orsak, a retired US Army Corps of Engineers civil engineer with 32 years of experience in coastal engineering states: "The Corps has always looked for a way to stabilize marine structures. We now have it! After witnessing the product in a public field test, it is my professional opinion that this device will revolutionize foundation support for marine structures, and will greatly reduce coastal structural damage and replacement costs to residents. Any person building a dock, seawall or boathouse without this new product is running a high risk of losing their structure and facing big replacement costs."

John Gilday, a structural engineer and a member of the Destin, Florida Harbor and Waterways Bouard said of the PILOCK™ Anchoring System: "It is a state-of-the-art invention. For some people who have had problems with their marine structures, it is a godsend!"

Dean Apell, a retired civil engineer made this statement: “After witnessing the testing on the Choctawhatchee Bay, it is obvious that the PILOCK™ is a fine deterrent to dock, seawall, or boathouse damage. By using this product you’re going to find out that PILOCK™ Corporation’s innovative technology will eliminate the settling of pilings, which causes sagging docks and boathouses.”

Harmond Bennet, an engineer with Channel 7 News in Panama City, Florida says, “After seeing the public test in Freeport, I give the Pilock Anchoring System a thumbs up.”

Robert L. Sanders, Executive Director of Tropical Woods and Multi-Components International Limited, Kennewick, Washington has written, "I have carefully reviewed the material you sent me and am impressed with the logic and simplicity of the PILOCK™ Pile-Anchoring System. It is a wonder that the world has endured endless cycles of destruction and rebuilding of marine works before responding with an idea such as yours. So let me add my congratulation to that of Congressman Scarborough."

Stephen L. Furman, Projects Engineer, Santa Rosa County, Florida wrote, "Santa Rosa County's Engineering Department is proud to state that PILOCK™ Corporation's product helped save Santa Rosa County's Navarre Pier during Hurricane Georges' high surge and waves. The Engineering Department modified the specifications of the peir to include 58 PILOCK™ anchoring devices on the piles after we reviewed the field test video and saw the holding power of the anchors. This cost saving decision to use the anchors enhances the strength and service life of the pier from future hurricanes and tropical storms. If any county has plans to build a marine structure, they should consider the PILOCK™ Anchoring Device."
