Stan Bates, inventor and founder, is a marine construction contractor (Certified Florida State Contractor's License #CRC003156). For over 40 years Stan had seen the continual destruction of docks, seawalls, boathouses and other marine structures after severe storms every year. He wanted to do something that would help keep the level of destruction at a minimum. The result of that dream is the PILOCK™ , an easy to use, and very affordable device.

Pilock Corporation has introduced a new technology of steel anchors and a bracing system that will stabilize your coastal structures during extreme water levels and wave conditions. The PILOCK™ anchoring device was patented in September 1995 (Patent #5553978). It is the only such device for marine structures to pass through the United States Patent Board. The PILOCK™ Pile-Anchoring System can be installed on new marine structures or it can be added to already existing structures, thereby giving your investment the extra strength needed to withstand the forces of nature.

In the marine construction industry, it is common practice to not secure the decking and floor joists very well. Then, when the uplifting forces of storm waves and surge power start to roll in, the crests battering the underside of the deck will cause uplifting forces from both impact and flotation to push the dock up. This will cause it to rip away, but the pilings will remain, and not everything is lost… but about 73% of your investment will be washed away.
